All tasty things come to an end

Life has its twists and turns...  Mine has taken me to sunny California and so, the NYC rooftop garden is no more!  My parents came in from Long Island with a flatbed trailer and we loaded it up entirely with plants.  Seeing them drive away with my garden, you would have thought they were professional landscapers =)

Good luck to everyone out there continuing to roof garden!  This blog will stay up as a good resource.  For now, I will be container gardening in Palo Alto =)

Do you use the same soil for the annuals? Just wondered if you had to keep adding compost/ manure for each season. Thanks ! Please continue your work in Cali

Hi, I do use the same soil for annuals, but every year I add compost from my kitchen scraps. I get a lot of scraps from banana, mango and orange peels. I am still gardening, maybe a California gardening blog will happen soon!

It’s such good news that numerous plants were immediately loaded on your new rooftop garden. Your parents seem really skilled to the gardening task, which is a good thing, as you will certainly not have problems about starting over. I hope your rooftop garden is having great progress by now. Good luck!
